“The five hundreds really don’t mean much anymore” – Rohit Sharma On His 2019 World Cup Centuries

In a book titled, ‘Mission Domination: An Unfinished Quest’ by Boria Majumdar and Kushan Sarkar, it was revealed that he was disappointed after the 2019 World Cup despite scoring 5 centuries. As he feels that personal milestones don’t matter when you play a team game.

“The five hundreds really don’t mean much anymore. Personally, it was a great achievement, but when you are playing a team sport, it is never about personal milestones.

Rohit Sharma told he received a lot of congratulations for his performance in World Cup. However, he wasn’t satisfied as India was unable to make it to the finals.

“When I reached home after the World Cup and everyone was congratulating me for the hundreds, I can honestly tell you I did not feel any elation. The real prize was in the England dressing room and it was difficult to accept that we had not made the final,” Rohit said in an interaction with the book authors.

Rohit Sharma further revealed his wish to win a World Cup with India in the upcoming three years.

“World Cup jeetna hai. We have three World Cups in the next three years and we must win a world tournament. This is one obsession we have to fulfill,” he added to the authors as revealed by the book.
