[WATCH]- Rohit Sharma Greets Fans In Mumbai Traffic

Team India’s senior batter Rohit Sharma, despite looking visibly annoyed while being stuck in Mumbai traffic, acknowledged a fan from inside his car. In a video shared on social media platform X, the veteran cricketer was seen giving a thumbs-up gesture, which the fan promptly returned.

Although he has not featured in a competitive game since the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2, the 38-year-old has continued to remain in the spotlight for different reasons. Recently, he was on a vacation in London with his family and was also spotted at The Oval during the fifth Test between England and India.

Rohit Sharma Absent From India Duty Since Champions Trophy 2025

At the same time, India’s ODI skipper has been away from international action since the 2025 Champions Trophy final against New Zealand, held on March 9 at the Dubai International Stadium. The triumph not only secured India their second Champions Trophy crown but also gave the veteran opener his second white-ball title as captain.

The veteran opener is likely to return to international action during India’s tour of Australia in October 2025, which features three ODIs and five T20Is. To gear up for the series, he may also participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy later this year.

Meanwhile, during a shoot for the UP T20 League, the BCCI Vice-President addressed the ongoing retirement speculation surrounding Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, stating the following as reported by Firstpost:

“When did they retire? Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli both will still play ODIs, so if they are still playing, then why talk about farewell now? Why are you people worrying already? Our policy is very clear – BCCI never tells any player to retire. He has to take his own decision. He himself has to take this call.”
