Veteran batter Rohit Sharma was seen at Mumbai airport on Tuesday, April 1, as he departed for Lucknow ahead of Mumbai Indians’ (MI) next match in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). The 37-year-old last featured in action on Monday, March 31, during MI’s clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Wankhede Stadium.
After being put to bat first, KKR had a dismal outing, getting bowled out for just 116 in 16.2 overs. Mumbai debutant Ashwani Kumar delivered an impressive performance, picking up four wickets in just three overs. In response, MI lost Rohit early for 13 runs, but his opening partner, Ryan Rickelton, anchored the chase brilliantly.
The South African batter smashed his maiden IPL fifty, remaining unbeaten on 62 off 41 balls, including four fours and five sixes. Suryakumar Yadav also played a blistering knock of 27* off nine balls as MI comfortably chased down the target with eight wickets in hand and 43 balls to spare, securing their first victory of the season.
The following day, Rohit Sharma was spotted at Mumbai airport alongside Tilak Varma as they traveled to Lucknow. You can watch the video here:

MI are set to face Rishabh Pant’s Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their fourth match of the season on Friday, April 4, at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Rohit Sharma has had a rough start to IPL 2025
As always, Rohit Sharma is expected to deliver big scores for Mumbai Indians, given his stature. However, after three matches in IPL 2025, the veteran batter has struggled to meet expectations. He started the season with a disappointing duck against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
His woes continued in the next game against Gujarat Titans (GT), where he was dismissed for just eight runs by Mohammed Siraj. In the third match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rohit managed only 13 runs off 12 balls. So far, he has accumulated just 21 runs in three outings.
Both Rohit and MI fans will be hoping that the former captain regains his form in the upcoming clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and turns his season around.
