India captain Rohit Sharma was spotted practicing in the nets at the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) BKC ground on Thursday, January 30. While Mumbai is playing its final Ranji Trophy 2024-25 group-stage match against Meghalaya, Rohit opted for a net session outside the game.
Rohit, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer, is not included in Mumbai’s playing XI for the match. The right-handed batter had featured in their previous game against Jammu & Kashmir but struggled with scores of 3 and 28.
Although not part of the ongoing match against Meghalaya, Rohit is making productive use of his time by batting in the nets and working on his technique as he gears up for India’s upcoming ODI series against England.

Following the ongoing T20I series, India will host England for a three-match ODI series. The series opener is scheduled for Thursday, February 6, in Nagpur, followed by the second match on February 9 in Cuttack and the final game on February 12 in Ahmedabad.
Rohit Sharma Eyes Strong Performance in England ODIs Ahead of 2025 Champions Trophy
The three-match ODI series against England will serve as crucial preparation for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Following the ODI series, India will travel to Dubai for the marquee tournament.
With Rohit Sharma struggling for form during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, all eyes will be on him in the England ODIs. The Indian captain will be eager to deliver strong performances and regain his rhythm in these three matches.
As India aims for success in the 2025 Champions Trophy, Rohit’s return to peak form will be essential. After narrowly missing out on the 2023 ODI World Cup title, the skipper will be determined to lead his team to victory in the upcoming ICC event.
