The young Team India all-rounder Washington Sundar used his brain to perfection to dismiss England all-rounder Ben Stokes LBW. As a result, India have reduced the visitors to 121 for five in the first innings of the fourth Test at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Mohammed Siraj started the second session well for the hosts removing Jonny Bairstow with a perfect inswinger. Since then, Ben Stokes and Ollie Pope looked to steer England’s innings. While there were odd chances, both the batters managed to keep the Indian bowlers work hard for the wickets before Washington Sundar delivered a stunner.
Washington Sundar removes Ben Stokes
Washington Sundar once again hit the good length area but this one straightened a tad from a length, angling in from round the wicket, and just doing a little bit off the seam – never predictable. Ben Stokes was pushed back, thanks to the bounce that Sundar gets because of his height, and is struck on the back pad trying to defend.
The umpire is quick in raising the finger and Washington Sundar had his man. Ollie Pope chased after him to convince him to review but Ben Stokes, however, knows it over as he walked back to the dressing room.

Watch – Virat Kohli and Ben Stokes Involved In A Heated Exchange On Day 1
Earlier in the day, India were the better side as they managed to scalp three wickets in the first session. Ishant Sharma almost had Zak Crawley on the second ball of the game. Virat Kohli soon turned to Axar Patel for the sixth over and the left-arm spinner struck on the second ball – yet again knocking over a batsman with his straighter deliveries.
Crawley then threw his wicket away in Axar’s next. Siraj got Joe Root from the first ball after drinks. Siraj had a few close moments with Stokes and there were words exchanged between the sides. Stokes played out that phase and managed to find boundaries before going for lunch.
