Virat Kohli and Ben Stokes were seen having an animated conversation early on day 1 of the Test match at Ahmedabad. The Indian captain looked visibly upset after Stokes sledged Mohammed Siraj. After bowling a bouncer Siraj gave Stokes a stare after which he said something which clearly didn’t amuse Virat Kohli. The Indian captain didn’t waste any time and had a polite enquiry with Stokes about the words he said to Siraj.

The conversation soon became lively as both Stokes and Kohli looked fired up. The umpires quickly came around the two players to calm them down but both Kohli and Stokes continued to have a go at each other. This is not the first time the two charismatic players of their respective sides have had a fired-up exchange on the field. Stokes and Kohli have a history with each other as both never back down from a fight and are always ready to have a rivalry on the field.

The Indian captain knows the importance of the Wicket of Stokes and that is why he tried to unsettle the star England all-rounder with a few words. After the conversation with Kohli, Stokes batted aggressively as he tried to make a statement after England lost 3 early wickets in the first session. Stokes is currently unbeaten on 24 runs but  England are in a spot of bother as they are 74 for 3 after Joe Root won the toss and elected to bat first.
