Former West Indies captain Brian Lara is one of the greatest batters to have graced the sport in the 21st century. The stylish left-handed batter recently clocked back in the time when he showed some glimpses of the glorious past during Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) training.

Incidentally, Lara is currently working as a batting consultant for the Hyderabad franchise in IPL 2022. The 53-year-old cricketer has never represented any franchise as a player in the cash-rich league.

However, Brian Lara recently glimpses of the pat when he took the bat and entered the nets for a few throwdowns. The southpaw was seen hitting some flamboyant drives and a couple of lofted shots.

Sunrisers Hyderabad posted the following video on their official Instagram handle and captioned it, “Don’t be confused. It’s 2022, not the 90s. But some things always remain the same legendary way. 🏏🧡@brianlaraofficial | #OrangeArmy #ReadyToRise #TATAIPL.”

Kane needs to turn from William to villain – Shoaib Akhtar ahead of SRH’s game against KKR

The Hyderabad franchise has had a start-stop campaign this season. They lost the first two matches, then won five on the trot before losing a few more. Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar urged the SRH captain to regain his form soon to help salvage his side’s turbulent season.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, the 46-year-old said, “Kane needs to turn from William to villain and attack with the bat in hand. He just needs to score, otherwise the team (will be in trouble). The T20 format gives full opportunity to openers to score. There is no reason why he shouldn’t succeed.”

SunRisers Hyderabad will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Saturday (May 14).
