Mumbai Indians (MI) batter and India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, shared a light-hearted moment with SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Abhishek Sharma by playfully checking his pockets. The two teams faced off at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday (April 17).
Suryakumar and Abhishek share a friendly rapport, both being part of the national T20I squad. After scoring 141 runs against Punjab Kings on April 12, Sharma expressed his gratitude to Suryakumar during the post-match presentation, mentioning how he had stayed in touch with his senior for advice during a rough patch.
Earlier in the season, Sharma celebrated his century by pulling out a note from his pocket that read, “This one is for Orange Army.” In Thursday’s match, Suryakumar Yadav playfully interrupted Abhishek’s moment, checking his pockets and sharing a laugh with the young opener. Coming off a recent century, Abhishek Sharma seemed in great form as SRH batted first, posting a total of 162/5. The left-hander showcased his skills, racing to 40 off 28 balls. However, on the third ball of the eighth over from Hardik Pandya, he went for an aerial shot and was caught by Mumbai’s substitute fielder, Raj Bawa.
