Suryakumar Yadav lost his wicket to Prasidh Krishna in the 16th over

Mumbai faced a challenging target of 197 runs in the match. Suryakumar Yadav was MI’s standout performer with the bat, scoring 48 off 28 balls. However, he fell just short of a half-century, losing his wicket to Prasidh Krishna on the final ball of the 16th over. Attempting an aggressive shot against a slower delivery, he mistimed it, resulting in a catch by Shubman Gill at long-off.

MI ultimately managed 160/6, falling short by 36 runs. Prasidh Krishna was the pick of GT’s bowlers, delivering an economical spell of 4-0-18-2. Mohammed Siraj also made an impact with two key wickets, while Kagiso Rabada and Sai Kishore chipped in with one each.

With the bat, GT’s opener played a crucial role. Sai Sudharsan top-scored for the team with a 63-run knock off 41 balls, guiding Gujarat to their first win of the season. This victory propelled GT to third place on the IPL 2025 points table with two points from two matches. Meanwhile, MI remain winless after two games and are currently positioned second from the bottom in the standings.
