[WATCH]- Suryakumar Yadav Playfully Dodges A Fan Ahead Of CSK vs MI IPL 2025 Clash

India’s T20I captain and Mumbai Indians’ batting mainstay, Suryakumar Yadav, humorously dodged a fan upon arriving in Chennai ahead of their IPL 2025 opener on March 23. When the fan appeared to request his sunglasses, the right-handed batter jokingly responded in Hindi, saying he would go blind if he wore them.

Suryakumar is set to lead the five-time champions against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Hardik Pandya’s absence, as the all-rounder is suspended for this match due to a slow over-rate penalty from IPL 2024. The Mumbai-born cricketer has led MI only once before, in IPL 2023, where the team secured a victory under his captaincy.

In a video posted on Mumbai Indians’ official social media account, the 34-year-old was seen telling the fan upon his arrival in Chennai:

“Ek ka -2 hai, ek ka -1 number hai. Tereko bhi chashma lag jaayega phir. Yeh nikaalne ke baad main dekhunga kaise.”

(“One is having -2 and the other is -1 number. Even you will get spectacles after this. How will I be able to see after removing this?”)

Mumbai Indians (MI) star Suryakumar Yadav recently spent time with a young fan at Chepauk Stadium, posing for pictures during the interaction. He is currently in Chennai with the MI squad for their IPL 2025 opener against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday (March 23).

Suryakumar will captain the team in the highly anticipated El Clasico, as regular skipper Hardik Pandya will miss the match due to a one-game suspension. Pandya received a 100% match fee fine and a one-match ban after MI failed to complete their overs on time three times last season.
