Team India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav appeared to be in high spirits when he tried to convince his wife, Devisha Shetty, to pose for the paparazzi just a week before the 2025 Asia Cup. The couple was spotted leaving a store when photographers asked for a few pictures.
Devisha, however, turned down Surya’s lighthearted request, which left both of them smiling. The 34-year-old cricketer then went on to pose patiently for the cameras, clicking a few selfies as well, before eventually heading back to the car with his wife. A video of the moment was shared on Instagram by Varinder Chawla.

Suryakumar Yadav and Devisha Shetty tied the knot in July 2016, after first crossing paths at a college event in 2010. In the lead-up to the Asia Cup in the UAE, the Indian T20I skipper has been sharing clips of his intense net sessions as he makes a strong return from a sports hernia surgery.
The dynamic batter was last in action during the 2025 IPL season, where he guided the Mumbai Indians (MI) to a third-place finish with his stellar performances. Across 16 matches, the 34-year-old amassed 717 runs at an impressive average of 65.18 and a strike rate of 167.91, which included five half-centuries.
Team India Aim To Extend T20I Winning Streak Under Suryakumar Yadav
Since Suryakumar Yadav’s appointment as full-time T20I captain in July 2024, Team India has showcased outstanding form in the shortest format. The experienced batter had earlier led the side in seven games during the 2023/24 season, guiding them to five wins, before Rohit Sharma returned to take charge of the T20I squad.
Rohit later bowed out of T20Is after clinching the 2024 World Cup as skipper, paving the way for Surya’s permanent captaincy. Under his leadership, India have strung together four successive T20I series victories, securing 13 wins in their last 15 outings. They now aim to carry this momentum into the Asia Cup, which kicks off in the UAE on September 9.
Placed in Group A, India will face Pakistan, Oman, and the UAE in the initial stage of the eight-team competition.
