[Watch]- Umran Malik’s Lethal Bouncers Leave Nicholas Pooran Clueless

Young Umran Malik was one of the three players retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega-Auctions. SRH retained the pacer for 4 crores. Umran made his debut in IPL 2021 where he got a chance to play 3 games.

In his second game, which was against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore, Umran caught the attention of fans. In the 9th over of the RCB innings, Umran consistently bowled deliveries which clocked the speed of 150 kmph or more.

Even Virat Kohli was impressed by the speedster and after the match said:

“This tournament throws up talent every year, good to see a guy bowling at 150 clicks .It is important to understand the progress of individuals from hereon. The pool of fast bowlers being strong is always a good sign for Indian cricket and whenever you see talent like this, you are going to have your eyes on them and make sure you maximise their potential which is already being seen at the IPL level.”

Umran Malik’s pace leaves Nicholas Pooran bamboozled

Ahead of the IPL 2022 season, Umran was again seen troubling the batters with his pace. Nicholas Pooran, who was acquired by SRH for a whopping 10.75 crores, faced Umran in the practice session.

The West Indian batter is usually comfortable handling short balls and plays the pull and hook shot really well. However even he had no answers to the speedy bouncers bowled by Umran and was seen losing his balance while facing the pacer from Jammu and Kashmir.

Umran Malik’s understanding of the game is expected to grow even further under bowling coach Dale Steyn. Umran Malik can prove to be the X-Factor for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season.
