Chennai Super Kings have pulled the brakes removing both Delhi Capitals opener after a brilliant start. Veteran spinner Piyush Chawla, who had a poor game against Rajasthan Royals, bounced back in style to remove Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw.
Asking to bat first in Dubai, Dhawan and Shaw provided a blistering start. The right-hand left-hand worked wonders for Delhi as the run came easily. While Dhawan employed a calculated approach, Shaw was in an aggressive mode from the start.

Prithvi Shaw was quick to bring his fifty while Shikhar Dhawan also put a peddle on the gear. The southpaw made things difficult for Chennai Super Kings spinners – Ravindra Jadeja and Piyush Chawla with the ball coming in.
Unlucky Prithvi Shaw gets out
Chawla provided the first breakthrough after openers added 94 runs for the first wicket. One wicket followed another as Chawla removed unlucky Shaw after a well made 64.
The youngster walked down the wicket to play the flatter delivery and gets outfoxed. The ball came off an inside edge and rolled back towards MS Dhoni who had plenty of time to take down the bails. No chance to get back in for Prithvi Shaw and that’s the end of an impressive knock by the Capitals’ opener.

Meanwhile, the run-rate went down after the departure of the openers but Rishabh Pant and skipper Shreyas Iyer tried hard to bring the boundaries. While sixes dried up, the boundaries kept coming as Delhi Capitals crossed the 150-run mark.
Some late blows from Pant helped Delhi set up a target of 176 runs. It will now require a monumental effort from the Chennai Super Kings batters to chase down the score as they aim their second victory.
