[WATCH]- Vaibhav Suryavanshi Touches MS Dhoni’s Feet After RR’s Win Over CSK In IPL 2025

Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi showed a touching sign of respect by touching MS Dhoni’s feet after their IPL 2025 win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Tuesday in Delhi. The heartfelt moment was captured in a viral video as both teams exchanged handshakes post-match.

Suryavanshi continued his impressive rise in the IPL with a game-changing performance against CSK. Opening alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young left-hander gave RR a flying start, adding 37 runs in just 3.4 overs while chasing 188. The 14-year-old reached his half-century in just 27 balls, hitting a six off Noor Ahmad, before being dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin for 57.

Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Sanju Samson in one over, but RR still chased the target easily in 17.1 overs. Dhruv Jurel remained unbeaten with a quickfire 31 off 12 balls and finished the match in style with a winning six, securing a six-wicket triumph.

“Early Wickets Cost Us the Game” – MS Dhoni

During the post-match presentation, CSK skipper MS Dhoni acknowledged that the team lost one or two extra wickets early in the innings, which wasn’t ideal. As quoted by ESPN Cricinfo, he stated:

“It was a good total, Brevis’ innings was really nice, taking risks, that’s the phase we want to improve … the run rate was up but we lost one or two more wickets at the start. Kamboj is good, he gets a lot of movement, his balls hit you harder than what you might expect, he’s good … he’s done well, bowling three overs in the powerplay is tough.”

The 43-year-old advised CSK’s youngsters to play wisely instead of always chasing a 200+ strike rate. He further added:

“They have to try for the consistency, but if you are looking for 200-plus strike rate then consistency is hard to get, they have the ability to hit sixes at any stage … don’t take pressure, when the expectations rise, learn from senior players and coaching staff. It’s about reading the game.”
