[WATCH]- Varun Chakaravarthy Dismisses Glenn Maxwell As Australia Stumble In 4th T20I Against India

Varun Chakaravarthy claimed the crucial wicket of Glenn Maxwell during the fourth T20I between India and Australia at the Carrara Oval in Queensland on Thursday, November 6. The leg-spinner dismissed Maxwell for just 2 runs, leaving Australia struggling at 103/6.

The breakthrough came in the 15th over of Australia’s chase when Varun delivered a sharp googly that deceived Maxwell. The batter attempted to create space and play it through the off side but missed the ball entirely. It went on to clip the top of the off-stump before settling into the wicketkeeper’s gloves.

India Tighten Grip On 4th T20I As Varun Chakaravarthy Removes Glenn Maxwell

A disciplined bowling effort kept India in control against Australia in the fourth T20I. At the time of writing, the hosts were struggling at 116/8 after 17 overs, with Ben Dwarshuis and Nathan Ellis at the crease. Axar Patel, Shivam Dube, and Washington Sundar starred with the ball, taking two wickets each.

Among the key breakthroughs, Dube dismissed Tim David for 14 off nine balls, while Varun Chakaravarthy sent back Glenn Maxwell for 2. Earlier, India posted a total of 167/8 in their 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Vice-captain Shubman Gill led the charge with a steady 46 off 39 deliveries, hitting four fours and a six.

Contributions from Abhishek Sharma, Shivam Dube, and captain Suryakumar Yadav, who all added useful runs in the 20s, strengthened the innings. Axar Patel’s quickfire 21* off 11 balls provided the late flourish. A victory in this match would see India go 2-1 up in the five-match series.

Australia had won the second T20I by four wickets, while India bounced back to claim the third by five wickets after the rain-affected opener was abandoned. The fifth and final T20I is scheduled to take place at The Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday, November 6.
