Former Indian captain Virat Kohli was seen delivering a passionate speech leading up to the rescheduled fifth Test against England, starting on July 1. Incidentally, Kohli was the leader of the side when India locked horns with the English side and lead the series 2-1.

However, Kohli stepped down as the captain after a humiliating defeat against South Africa earlier this year. As the Indian team gears up for the rescheduled fifth Test, it will be Rohit Sharma who leads the team. But Virat Kohli stepped up to give the players a pep talk before one of the practice session.

In a video shared by Leicestershire, the talismanic score was seen giving a spirited speech to his teammates in the presence of head coach Rahul Dravid. It has been reported that Virat Kohli spoke about ‘closing in on history’, with the Indian team chasing its first Test series win in England since 2007.

As far as India’s schedule for the series goes, the team will lock horns with Leicestershire in a warm-up match starting June 24. The visitors will then square-off against England in the fifth and final Test starting July 01.

Virat Kohli flaunts his football skills

With a little over a week to go for the start of the much-awaited fifth Test, the Indian team looked in high spirits during their practice session at Leicester on Monday. While Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were spotted having a hit in the nets, Virat Kohli and his gang featuring Cheteshwar Pujara, Mohammed Shami among others engaged in some football.

Kohli’s love for football is not new and he stresses on playing football to warm-up. He is also seen participating in various charity football matches.

India and England will then be up against each other in a T20I series starting July 07. After three T20Is, the two teams are also scheduled to play three ODIs against each other.
