During Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings on Thursday, May 29, Virat Kohli made a heartfelt gesture toward his wife Anushka Sharma, who was watching from the stands at Mullanpur Stadium. Kohli signaled “one more” to Anushka, hinting at the one remaining match needed to secure the IPL title.
A video capturing the moment went viral on social media, with fans loving Anushka’s warm smile in response. Kohli, a cornerstone of RCB for 18 years and a veteran of three IPL finals, will now play in his fourth, as RCB stormed past Punjab Kings with a dominant eight-wicket win.
After Suyash Sharma and Josh Hazlewood picked up three wickets each to bowl Punjab out for just 101 in 14.1 overs, Phil Salt’s unbeaten fifty sealed the chase. Kohli’s enthusiasm was evident throughout the match, and his symbolic gesture to Anushka Sharma reflected both his excitement and determination to finally clinch the elusive trophy.

Virat Kohli began with a classy pull for four off Arshdeep Singh but was soon dismissed by Kyle Jamieson, edging to the keeper. Despite the early exit, he remains the season’s fifth-highest run-scorer with 614 runs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru Secure First Final Spot In Nine Years
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have made it to their first IPL final since 2016, when they narrowly lost to SunRisers Hyderabad by eight runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Their journey to the finals began in 2009, where they were edged out by the Deccan Chargers by six runs. In 2011, they faced another setback, losing the title clash to Chennai Super Kings by a margin of 58 runs.
Still in pursuit of their maiden IPL trophy, Rajat Patidar and his teammates will be eager to end the franchise’s long-standing title drought. There’s also a possibility of a rematch with Punjab Kings in the final—if Punjab manages to win the Qualifier 2 on June 1.
