Virat Kohli delivered yet another stellar knock under pressure during India’s chase in the 2025 Champions Trophy semifinal against Australia on Tuesday, March 4. The star batter once again showcased his brilliance, reinforcing his reputation as a ‘chase master.’

While Kohli is known for his intense energy on the field, there have been several instances where he has displayed his playful side as well. During India’s fielding in the first innings, Virat Kohli had a moment with one of the on-field umpires.

Between overs, Kohli stood behind the stumps at the bowling end, engaging in a fun catching exchange with the umpire. The umpire tossed the ball to him, and Kohli playfully returned it in the same manner before resuming his fielding position.

In the match, India bowled out Australia for 264 in 49.3 overs before successfully chasing the target with four wickets in hand. With this win, the Men in Blue secured a spot in the 2025 Champions Trophy final, where they will face either South Africa or New Zealand on Sunday, March 9.

Virat Kohli has been in exceptional form in the ongoing 2025 Champions Trophy. After scoring a match-winning century against Pakistan in a crucial run chase, he once again proved why he is regarded as one of the best chasers in the game. India needed 265 runs to defeat Australia in the semifinal and book a spot in the final.

However, they suffered an early setback, losing both openers for just 43 runs within the first eight overs. Stepping up under pressure, Virat Kohli took control of the innings, forming vital partnerships with Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, and KL Rahul while navigating a tricky phase of the game.

He played a composed knock of 84 runs off 98 balls, hitting five boundaries, and guided India towards victory by setting the right momentum. Courtesy of his brilliant chase, India reached the target in 48.1 overs. Kohli’s outstanding performance earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
