SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowler Harsh Dubey had a memorable moment after the IPL 2025 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), getting his cap signed by legendary batter Virat Kohli. The two sides clashed in the 65th match of the season on Friday, May 23, at Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, SRH posted a formidable total of 231/6 in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan starred with an explosive unbeaten 94 off 48 balls, hitting seven fours and five sixes. RCB responded positively, with openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli putting on a 80-run stand in just 42 balls. Kohli scored 43 before being dismissed by Harsh Dubey, while Salt raced to 62 from 32 deliveries.
Despite a strong start, RCB’s middle order collapsed, going from 173/3 to 189 all out in 19.5 overs, giving SRH a 42-run win. The next day, on May 24, Dubey posted a photo with Kohli on his Instagram story, proudly displaying his autographed cap.
“I’m very grateful to have played against Virat Kohli. I’ve watched him since my childhood, so getting his wicket is truly a dream come true.”
RCB are currently third on the points table with 17 points from 13 matches and have secured a spot in the playoffs. In contrast, SRH have been knocked out of the tournament and are placed eighth with 11 points from as many games.
