India batting star Virat Kohli was seen leaving the team hotel in London soon after arriving with the squad ahead of the ODI series decider against England. The Indian team reached the city on Friday, July 17, with videos on social media showing the players getting off the team bus and checking into the hotel.
Unlike his teammates, however, Kohli did not enter the hotel. Instead, he got into a waiting car and departed separately. The veteran batter is believed to have headed to his residence in London, where he reportedly relocated with his wife Anushka Sharma and their two children in early 2024.

The ongoing three-match ODI series marked Virat Kohli’s return to international cricket after he missed India’s home ODI series against Afghanistan last month due to a hamstring injury. The veteran batter had a disappointing comeback in the series opener, managing just five runs off six balls.
However, Kohli responded strongly in the second ODI, producing a composed knock of 65 off 66 deliveries to register his first half-century of the series.
“The Engine Took An ODI To Get Warmed Up”: Ex-India Star On Virat Kohli’s Comeback
Former India wicketkeeper and ex-selector Saba Karim said Virat Kohli needed one ODI to regain his rhythm after returning from injury, noting that it is challenging for players who feature in only one international format.
Karim, however, felt Kohli was dismissed at the wrong time in the second ODI and should have converted his promising start into a bigger innings. Speaking to Sony Sports Network, he said:
“It’s very tough for a player who is playing just one format. No matter how much you prepare, until you get match practice, it’s very difficult to come and bat like this. The engine took an ODI to get warmed up. We got to see the trademark Virat Kohli shots. It was a knock like that.”
“He got out at the wrong time. He had scored so many runs, and he had to kick on from there to a big score, which couldn’t happen. However, we got to see fantastic footwork, and he showed aggression with his drives. Virat at his best. It’s great for India that Virat took only one match to show his form again.”
