India batting stalwart Virat Kohli saw his impressive knock come to an end after England pacer Jofra Archer dismissed him during the second ODI of the three-match series at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, on Thursday, July 16. Kohli’s wicket came on the fourth delivery of the 32nd over of India’s innings.
Archer delivered a back-of-a-length ball on middle and leg, and Kohli attempted to whip it across the line. However, he only managed a top edge, with the ball safely pouched by Adil Rashid at deep third. It was the second successive ODI in which Archer got the better of Kohli, having trapped him lbw for five in the series opener.

Virat Kohli scored a fluent 65 off 66 deliveries, striking eight boundaries during his innings. His dismissal reduced India to 178/4 in 31.4 overs.
Harry Brook’s Scoop Goes Wrong as Gurnoor Brar Strikes in 2nd ODI
India pacer Gurnoor Brar provided a crucial breakthrough by dismissing England captain Harry Brookduring the second ODI of the three-match series at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, on Thursday, July 16. The wicket came on the fourth delivery of the 11th over.
Brar produced a sharp 146 kph back-of-a-length delivery outside off stump as Brook shuffled well across his stumps in an attempt to play a scoop shot. However, the ball brushed his gloves before carrying through to wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan, who completed a comfortable catch.

The England skipper’s innings ended at 16 off 16 deliveries, with two boundaries and a six to his name. His wicket reduced the hosts to 53/3 in 10.4 overs. Earlier, after being asked to bat first, India were bundled out for 233 in 44 overs.
Virat Kohli (65 off 66) and Shreyas Iyer (66 off 71) were the standout performers with impressive half-centuries, while Jofra Archer and Gus Atkinsonstarred with the ball for England, claiming three wickets each.
