[WATCH]- Yash Thakur Deceives Jos Buttler With a Beautiful Delivery in LSG vs RR IPL 2024 Match

In the IPL 2024 showdown between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Rajasthan Royals, seamer Yash Thakur from LSG claimed the wicket of Jos Buttler in his opening over. The match took place at the Ekana International Stadium on Saturday, April 27.

Despite England’s white-ball captain showing resilience, Buttler’s dismissal occurred when he misjudged a full toss, straying too far across the stumps. In the sixth over, marking the conclusion of the powerplay, KL Rahul brought Yash Thakur into the attack.

The right-arm seamer delivered a dipping full toss that deceived Buttler and struck the leg stump. Disappointed, Buttler departed for 34 runs off 18 balls, shaking his head as he walked back. This dismissal concluded the 60-run partnership between Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

While the English player didn’t begin the tournament with a strong performance, he has progressively improved with each game. The 32-year-old has already scored two centuries in the tournament, both of which were achieved while chasing.

He reached the three-figure milestone against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Jaipur while pursuing 183 runs. He repeated the feat against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens while chasing a target of 223.

KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda excel before Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler initiate their explosive start

Meanwhile, following Royals skipper Sanju Samson’s decision to field first, the Super Giants showcased a promising batting display. Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma rattled the top order of the Royals, but KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda steadied the innings with a 115-run partnership. Hooda departed after scoring 50, while the skipper contributed 76 runs.

Despite Krunal Pandya and Ayush Badoni’s efforts, the home side faced challenges in accelerating the run rate during the death overs. Sandeep Sharma, who previously claimed a five-wicket haul against the Mumbai Indians, finished with figures of 4-0-31-2.

Heading into the match, LSG secured a victory over the Chennai Super Kings, propelled by Marcus Stoinis’ remarkable century at the Chepauk. Meanwhile, the Royals emerged victorious against the Mumbai Indians in their previous encounter.
