Yashasvi Jaiswal played a fantastic century in the first Test of the series against England. On Day 1 of the first Test match in Headingley in Leeds, English captain Ben Stokes ended his innings. Stokes bowled Jaiswal out with a trick one, a length delivery bowling a wider angle; the ball offset to push past the outside edge of the Jaiswal bat to hit the stumps.
Jaiswal registered a score of 101 runs in 159 balls, scoring 16 fours and 1 six. His opening batting played an important role in the good performance of India and hence he proved his worth at this stage. The loss of Jaiswal provided England with an opportunity to get their act together and enter back into the game. Both wickets of Stokes and Jaiswal were important and the century made by Jaiswal is a morale-boosting one to the Indian team.
