Veteran leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal produced a screamer of a delivery to bamboozle West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard for a golden duck in the 1st ODI against West Indies in Ahmedabad. The visitors have been reduced to 85/7 after being asked to bat first.
The hosts, who are playing their first match under Rohit Sharma, were on song right from the onset. Mohammed Siraj produced the first breaking crashing Shai Hope’s timber with a beautiful delivery.
Brandon Kings and Darren Bravo added 31 runs for the 2nd wicket to revive the innings before Washington Sundar struck twice in the same over to dismiss both the set batters before Yuzvendra Chahal ran riot with the ball.
The veteran leg-spinner trapped Nicholas Pooran with a leg break before breaking Kieron Pollard’s defence with a jaffa of a delivery. The incident took place in the 20th over of the match.
It was the first ball in and Pollard wanted to play an extravagant cover drive down the ground. It was a googly from Yuzvendra Chahal that came in and through the gate and knocks over off stump.
West Indies were suddenly reduced to 71/5 and there were stunned faces in the West Indies dugout.

Yuzvendra Chahal continued his brilliance with the ball finding Samarah Brook’s edge before Rishabh Pant completed an easy catch. India continued on the momentum to chip in with another wicket but this time it was Prasidh Krishna, who dismissed Akeal Hosein.
It was a bouncer from the young fast bowler that kissed Akeal’s gloves before Pant dived forward to complete the catch and reduce West Indies to 79/7.
