Former cricketer Aakash Chopra has raised questions over India’s squad for the T20I series against Afghanistan. The Indian selectors announced a 16-member squad for the three-match T20I series on Sunday, January 7 through a press release. The series kicks off on Thursday, January 11 with the first T20I at Mohali.

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has raised some questions over the commission of Ishan Kishan from the team. Kishan made himself unavailable from the South Africa Test series due to personal reasons. There hasn’t been any update on his return to the team. Aakash Chopra also questioned the absence of Shreyas Iyer from the team.

“Iyer was nominated as the Vice-Captain for the 5-match T20I series vs Australia. Was a part of the squad against SA too. Now, finds no place in the team vs Afghanistan,” Aakash Chopra wrote on Twitter.

“Dubey was in the squad vs Aus at home. Wasn’t picked for SA. Back in the team vs AFG. Also, where is Ishan Kishan? Any news on his availability?” he added.
