Himachal Pradesh pacer Rishi Dhawan is making a comeback in the Indian Premier League after a gap of six years. Rishi Dhawan was included in the playing XI of Punjab Kings for their ongoing match against Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede stadium.

While bowling in this match, Rishi Dhawan was wearing a face mask. This face mask caught the attention of several cricket fans around the world. Dhawan recently injured his nose when he was hit on the face in a Ranji Trophy match. The Himachal Pradesh pacer wore this face mask to protect his nose from getting injured.

Rishi went through surgery for treatment of his nose during Ranji Trophy. Due to his surgery, Rishi Dhawan was unavailable for the first four matches of this IPL season. He wore this face mask even in the practice sessions of Punjab Kings.

Rishi Dhawan was in amazing form in this domestic season. Rishi Dhawan led from the front in the Vijay Hazare Trophy-winning campaign of Himachal Pradesh. He also created his impact in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy where he picked 14 wickets. As a result of it, he was bought by Punjab Kings in the IPL auction at a price of INR 55 Lakhs.

Shikhar Dhawan Guides Punjab Kings To 187

On a slow pitch where shots were difficult to hit, Shikhar Dhawan kept his calm during the initial overs and played a brilliant knock of 88 runs in 59 balls. Liam Livingstone also played an impactful knock of 19 runs in 6 balls which helped Punjab reach a total of 187. It’s a very good total on this slow Wankhede pitch.

Ambati Rayudu put on a show to keep Chennai Super Kings in the hunt but Punjab bowlers stood up to the task in the death overs to clinch the tie. Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers, returning with 2/23 in his four overs.
