Day two of the fifth Test match began with the England and Indian players wearing blue caps at the Edgbaston in Birmingham on Saturday, July 2. After a brilliant performance on day one by Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja, all eyes were on how much will India score in their first innings on day two. Before the start of the play, the players from both teams got together to raise awareness against Prostate Cancer.
The England and Indian players wore blue caps on Bob Willis Day, as the Edgbaston turned “Blue for Bob”. The day is celebrated to help raise money for the Bob Willis Fund in their fight against prostate cancer. The effort was first initiated in 2021, during an ODI match between England and Pakistan. It is observed in honor of former England fast bowler Bob Willis.

Bob Willis passed away in December 2019 at the age of 70 from prostate cancer. The fund has been established by Bob Willis’ wife Lauren Clark and brother David to promote awareness about prostate cancer. Bob Willis played 90 Test matches for England, taking 325 wickets at an average of 25.20. His best spell of 8/43 came against Australia in the Ashes in 1981 at the Headingley.
Jasprit Bumrah’s fiery cameo gets India to 416 in the first innings
