WTC Final: Ravi Shastri Chooses His Best Playing XI Against Australia

The playing XI for India’s match against Australia in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final was recently chosen by former cricketer Ravi Shastri.

The crucial match is scheduled to begin on June 7 at the Oval. The Indian players have arrived in the UK to get ready for the WTC final after a demanding two months of IPL cricket. They’ve had a few training sessions, and they’ll probably play an intra-squad game.

Shastri has unveiled his selection of India’s starting XI with just a few days until the game starts.

Rohit Sharma, the team captain, and Shubman Gill, a young batting sensation, were chosen by the former cricketer-turned-commentator as his openers. Shastri then chose Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, and Ajinkya Rahane to stack his middle order.

In a video posted by Star Sports, Shastri said, “When you look at the WTC, if I remember from the last time India were in the final, it’s very important to pick a team that suits the conditions.”. “The weather was very gloomy the last time I was in Southampton. So I’ll choose my 12 instead. My starting lineup for 12 will be Rohit, Shubman, Pujara at 3, Virat at 4, and Ajinkya Rahane at 5. “

When it comes to making his Test debut, the keeper-batter Ishan Kishan has the support of the former head coach of Team India. Shastri believes that KS Bharat, another wicketkeeper, will be selected if India chooses to field two spinners.

Ishan Kishan or KS Bharat must be chosen, Shastri said. “I think India will win or lose based on the opponent. Perhaps KS Bharat is playing if there are two spinners. However, it might go the other way if there are four seamers and one spinner playing. “

To round out his starting XI, Shastri chose Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and one other player.
