Batting sensation Prithvi Shaw was once again ignored by the Indian selectors as they picked the limited-overs squads for the upcoming New Zealand tour. The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the T20I and the ODI squad on Monday, for the New Zealand tour, which will kickstart later this month. Prithvi Shaw’s non-selection in the team became a talking point on social media.

The Mumbai batter has been in tremendous form in domestic cricket off late. Opening the innings, he has played the aggressor role to perfection for his side. In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022, Prithvi Shaw has scored 287 runs in eight matches at an average of 41 and at a strike rate of 186.36. His run tally includes a fifty and a century.

Prithvi Shaw last played for India in July 2021 against Sri Lanka in his debut T20I. He was dismissed for a golden duck in the match. Since then, the opening batter has been out of the Indian team. His non-selection in Team India’s squad for the New Zealand tour left the fans disappointed. The fans took to social media to share their thoughts on his exclusion.
