CPL 2021: Shivai Academy U-14 Convincingly Beats Celebration Sports Club By 5 Wickets

The first game of the third week of CPL 2021 saw Celebration Sports Club lock horns with Shivai Academy at the Thakur Village Cricket Stadium in Kandivali in a U-14 game. Shivai Academy had the last laugh in a thriller of a game edging past their opponents by five wickets.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Shivai Academy had put early pressure on Celebration Sports Club reducing them to 10 for two in 4.4 overs. Hemant Gowda bowled a ripper to knock Dharsh Singh’s timber before Mayank Panchal removed Meet Patel.

Struggling at 10 for two, Celebration Sports Club were in desperate need of a partnership. Aryan Sisodiya and Ankit Yadav started the rebuilding process. They added only 15 runs before Sisodiya walked back to the hut scoring only 3 runs off 16 deliveries leaving his side at 25 for three.

Wickets kept tumbling on Celebration Sports Club but timely contributions from Ankit Yadav (36 from 20 balls) and Ojasya Ulfat (34 off 30 deliveries) helped them recover from early trouble before Aditya Saripalli (21* off 20 balls) guided them to 113 for seven at the end of 20 overs.

Chasing a moderate total, Shivai Academy got off to a flier taking on the new ball. They cruised through to 23 runs in just 2 overs before losing Aryan Tamatta. However, the runs kept flowing as Mayank Sawant and Anas Khan found the gaps easily to be on top of the game.

However, Celebration Sports Club bounced back right at the stroke of the ninth-over mark. They picked a couple of wickets in a short span to unsettle Shivai Academy. But Prem Parekh held his composure and calm to take his side home. He remained unbeaten on 30 runs from 20 deliveries including three boundaries to seal the tie for Shivai Academy with 20 balls to spare and five wickets in hand.
