Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh is in all praise for his CSK companion Ambati Rayudu after his stellar show in the opening game last year. Rayudu scored an important knock of 71 runs chasing down a target 163 runs put up by Mumbai Indians.

The knock was important for the Chennai Super Kings since they had lost two early wickets in the form of Shane Watson and Murali Vijay.

Just like Mumbai Indians, the Chennai struggled early on in the innings but Faf Du Plessis and Ambati Rayudu’s partnership ensured that Chennai sail through for a victory.  Harbhajan Singh played alongside Rayudu for both Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings feels there was an injustice done to him.

Injustice was Done to Ambati Rayudu: Harbhajan Singh

While talking to SportsTak, Harbhajan was firm on his opinion that injustice was done to Rayudu. He feels the batsmen should’ve been part of India 2019 World Cup squad. Moreover, he talked about how other than age and ability, we should also notice the amount of talent Rayudu possess.

“It will be less however much you appreciate Rayudu. I feel there was an injustice done to him when the World Cup team was picked. He should have been definitely there on that team. But he has shown again in this match, how much ability he has and that age is on one side and talent is also something that needs to be looked at.”, Harbhajan told Sports Tak.

Harbhajan Singh further went on to praise the bowling attack of the Chennai Super Kings side explicitly mentioning the performance of leg spinner Piyush Chawla last night. Chawla was superb with the ball picking the crucial wicket of Rohit Sharma.

“I would like to praise the bowling attack, the manner in which all the bowlers have bowled, especially Piyush Chawla, who conceded so few runs and took the big wicket of Rohit Sharma and restricted a big team like Mumbai Indians to a score of 162 runs.
