The outbreak of the pandemic coronavirus had a toll on all the sporting activities across the globe including the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had to postpone the league until April 15 which was scheduled to commence from March 29. But going by the current situation, it is highly unlikely to start the tournament in April.
Meanwhile, there are reports going around that IPL 2020 might be cancelled considering the Future Tour Program. As the situations stand, the franchises will incur massive losses if the tournament gets called off as it involves a lot of money. Notably, Chennai Super Kings have already witnessed a massive dip by 20 percent in their market share.

He also made startling claims suggesting BCCI to go ahead with the tournament without the overseas cricketers. Notably, the cricketers from abroad have been the star attractions in the competition since its birth.
“We are open to a shortened tournament with only Indian players, at the end of the day it is the Indian Premier League,” Rajasthan Royals CEO Barthakur was quoted as saying by PTI.
