Yesterday, during the RCB and KXIP match, Sunil Gavaskar’s on-air comments have landed him in huge controversy. RCB skipper Virat Kohli dropped two easy chances which cost his side the match.

Kohli at the boundary dropped catches of KL Rahul who eventually ended up scoring 132* not out. Meanwhile, Gavaskar without thinking included Anushka Sharma’s name while he was doing commentary for Star Sports in Hindi.

The veteran commentator surprisingly stated that Kohli currently looks rusty and out of practice, as he has only practised against the bowling of his wife during the lockdown.

Gavaskar stirs controversy with comments on Virat and Anushka

Gavaskar was clearly talking about the video that was seen a few months back when Virat and Anushka were seen playing cricket at their apartment in Mumbai.

However, this comment of Gavaskar didn’t go down well with all the fans. Gavaskar was bashed by everyone for unnecessary including the name of Anushka Sharma during live broadcasting when there is an IPL match taking place.

Gavaskar faced so much heat and anger that the majority of people of social media now wants him to be immediately removed from the commentary panel of IPL 2020.

Moreover when Kohli was batting the focused should have been entirely on him. However, Gavaskar decided to be funny and sarcastic and ended up dragging the name of Kohli’s wife.

Now Anushka herself has lashed out at Gavaskar and posted a story on Instagram. It will be interesting to see what Kohli has to say on this matter who immensely respects former India great Sunil Gavaskar.

Furthermore, this is not the first time Anushka has been targeted when Kohli has under-performed. It all started with the failure of the Indian batsmen in the world cup semi-finals in 2015 when Anushka was watching the match live in Sydney.
