- Vinod Kambli
Vinod Kambli was the first Indian batter to score double centuries in successive test matches. The stylish left-handed scored 224 against England at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 19th February 2023. During his knock of 224, Kambli smashed 23 boundaries which helped India post 591 runs in the first innings. India won that match by an innings and 15 runs.
Kambli scored 2nd double century against Zimbabwe in the only Test match at New Delhi on 13th March 1993. The left-handed batter made 227 off 301 balls with 28 boundaries that helped India post a massive total of 536 for 7 declared. The Indian team registered comfortable innings and a 13-run victory. For his 227, Vinod Kambli was named the player of the match.
- Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli proved his worth with 2 successive double centuries. Both of their double centuries came against Sri Lanka. Coming at number 4, Kohli proved his worth with 213 off 267 balls with 17 fours and 2 sixes at Vidarbha Cricket Association, Nagpur on 24th November 2017. His innings ensured that India declared their innings on 610 for 6.
The Indian Cricket team won the match by an innings and 239 runs win. For his 213, Kohli was named the player of the match. Virat Kohli scored his 2nd double-century against Sri Lanka on 2nd December 2017. He showed his prowess with 243 off 287 balls with 25 fours. His knock ensured that India declared their innings on 536 for 7. For his 243, Kohli was named the player of the match award.
- Yashasvi Jaiswal
The explosive left-handed batter Yashasvi Jaiswal showed his class with a sensational knock of 209 in the 2nd Test match against England at Vizag on 2nd February. After opting to bat first, Jaiswal took the charge putting enough pressure with his explosive batting. He scored his maiden double-century and was eventually dismissed for 209 off 290 deliveries with 19 fours and 7 sixes. Due to his brilliant knock, India posted 396 runs in the first innings.
The stylish left-handed batter demonstrated power-hitting in the 2nd innings of the 3rd Test match at Rajkot. Jaiswal looked cautious initially before putting on an excellent display of batting putting pressure on England bowlers and taking them to the cleaners. He retired hurt after completing his century.
He came to bat after the fall of Gill’s wicket on day 4. Jaiswal hammered the England bowlers and completed 2nd successive double century. He remained not out on 214 off 236 balls with 14 fours and 12 sixes that helped India set a massive target. India won the match by a massive 434 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the series.
