Young Ayush Badoni showcased his talent in Match 4 of IPL 2022 between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. Ayush played a brilliant innings of 54 runs off 41 balls on debut. His innings consisted of 4 fours and 3 maximums.

At one stage, Lucknow Super Giants were struggling at 29-4. That is when Ayush stitched a 87-run partnership with Deepak Hooda. The 22-year old started slow but gained momentum as the innings progressed.

In the 15th over of the Lucknow innings, Ayush smashed 3 consecutive boundaries against GT skipper Hardik Pandya. He also smashed Rashid Khan for a six during his knock. His fifty helped LSG post a competitive total of 158-6 on the board.

Ayush said during the innings break: “I wasn’t looking at the score, I was just batting and wasn’t thinking of my fifty. I just wanted to play my natural game and realized I got a fifty only after I got there. I couldn’t sleep last night, I was very nervous. After I hit the first boundary, I got confidence. The ball was cutting initially and after six overs it does get flat. I think we have got a good total on the board.”

#3 Domestic Career and Age-Group Cricket

On 11 January 2021, Ayush Badoni made his Twenty20 debut for Delhi in the 2020–21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He has just played 5 T20s so far.

In a Youth Test match against Sri Lanka U-19 in 2018, Ayush smashed 185 runs off 202 balls. He was effective with his off-spin also as he picked 4 and 2 wickets in the 1st and 2nd innings respectively.


#2 Asia Cup Heroics

The right-hander made headlines in 2018 when he blasted 52 off just 28 balls for India Under-19 against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup Final. His knock consisted of five sixes and two fours.

Ayush smashed four big maximums in the over of left-arm spinner Shashika Dulshan. India won the match by a massive margin of 144 runs.
