Kagiso Rabada was on a phenomenal run during the previous season for the Delhi Capitals as there was just one game in the entire season where he went wicketless. In the process, Rabada overtook Sunil Narine who took 32 matches to reach 50 IPL wickets as Rabada achieved the feat in just 27 matches.

When IPL 2020 took place in the UAE, Rabada went on to win the purple cap with 30 wickets under his name. The pacer played an integral role in the franchise playing their first-ever IPL final after failing to reach the occasion ever before in the history of the IPL. With the kind of performance Rabada has put up in the past, it is pretty much expected that the Proteas fast bowler will go on to become one of the highest wicket-takers even during IPL 2021.
