Every team participating in IPL since its inception aims to reach the playoff stage to fight out for supremacy. Winning at least 8 out of 14 round robin matches ensures qualification for playoffs. Delhi Daredevils disappointed by being the first team to be knocked out in this year’s IPL losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad in their 11th match on 10th May 2018.
This has been their repeat story for Delhi Daredevils franchise since 2013. In this year’s IPL, DD has played 12 matches winning just 3 and losing 9 matches. There have been some brilliant performances from young Indian players like Pant, Sheryas Iyer and Prithvi Shaw but not performed as a unit mainly due to the failure of established and senior players which led to another disappointing season.
