- Clusters of Trophies
Looking at the Trophy Cabinet possessed by MS Dhoni it can be concluded that he is one of the greatest captains of the world to have played the game of cricket. With World T20, the Border-Gavaskar trophy, the CB series, the Asia Cup, the ICC World Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy all under his belt, he has led Indian cricket to greatest heights than any captain had ever done before him.
He is the only captain to led his team to No.1 position in every format of the game. Has been also the only skipper to have featured in ICC Top 10 ODI batsmen for 8 consecutive years now.
Dhoni has received accolades for his captaincy by several of his senior team-mates including the Little Master, who has declared Dhoni to be the best captain he has played under.Kohli, again has little experience in this, so there is little that can be said about him, but in the meanwhile, he can certainly learn from Dhoni.
It can be concluded that while Kohli is a promising candidate for the captain’s job for the future, he is not quite prepared to replace MS Dhoni. Not yet anyway.
MS Dhoni’s absence will be acutely felt by India after his retirement and the country will have a tough time finding someone who could fill in his shoes.
