Before coming to cricket, Brad Hodge was an employee at a local petrol pump. He played a total of only 6 test matches scoring just 503 runs with 1 century and 2 half centuries. Apart from 6 test matches, he played 25 One day internationals and 15 T20Is for Australia. He came at the lower order and bowled part-time off-spin.

He made his test debut for Australia against West Indies at Hobart on 17^th November 2005. On 3^rd December 2005, Brad Hodge made his ODI debut against New Zealand. His T20I debut was against Zimbabwe on 12^th September 2007. He coached the Gujarat Lions team in 2017 edition.
