The Indian Team registered a memorable win over arch-rivals Pakistan in one of the best T20 matches ever played in Melbourne Cricket Ground, MCG on 23 October 2022. India looked down and out losing 4 wickets with the scoreboard reading at 31 for 4.
Virat Kohli put up a brilliant display of batting with an unbeaten 82 off 53 balls and adding 113 runs with Hardik Pandya for the fifth wicket bought back India into the match. With 48 runs required off the final three overs, Kohli showed his attacking skills against Shaheen Shah Afridi hitting him for boundaries.
He then hit two brilliant sixes that changed the momentum of the game in favour of India. Dinesh Karthik was not able to finish. Ravichandran Ashwin remained calm with a wide delivery. He then hit a lovely boundary as India won the match on the last ball.
In a recent video shared by the BCCI, Dinesh Karthik was seen jokingly thanking Ravichandran Ashwin for saving him in the clash against Pakistan.
“Thank you for saving me yesterday, so cool and calm,” said Karthik.
