India’s tour of New Zealand is all set to get underway on Friday, November 18 with the three-match T20I series in Wellington. It will be the first assignment for both teams after the conclusion of the 2022 T20 World Cup. The players will be eyeing to break several individual records in the series.
Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who will be leading the Indian bowling attack in the series, is on the verge of shattering a unique record. He needs four wickets in the series, to register his name in the record books for taking the most wickets in T20Is in a calendar year. The Indian bowler has 36 wickets to his name in 30 T20I matches this year. Ireland bowler Joshua Little is currently leading the chart of most T20I wickets in a calendar year with 39 wickets.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is currently the leading wicket for India in T20Is. In 85 matches, he has picked up 89 wickets, with two five-wicket hauls. He needs 11 more wickets to become the first Indian to bag 100 T20I wickets.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant will be looking to complete 1000 T20I runs. He is just 30 runs away from achieving the milestone. The wicketkeeper also needs 67 runs to complete 4,000 runs in international cricket.

Kane Williamson eyes rare milestone in T20Is
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson can become only the second Kiwi batter to complete 2,500 runs in T20Is. Martin Guptill was the first New Zealand cricketer to achieve the feat. Williamson is just 97 runs away from the landmark. He has scored 2403 runs in 86 T20Is at an average of 32.91 and a strike rate of 123.16. The right-handed batter has 16 half-centuries to his name in the format.
Meanwhile, leg-spinner Ish Sodhi can become the most successful bowler against India in T20Is. He has 20 wickets in 15 T20Is against India and needs two more to overtake England’s Chris Jordan.
