The 18-year-old leg spinner Rehan Ahmed created history as he became the youngster ever bowler to take a five-wicket haul on Test debut. He achieved this milestone on Day 3 of the third Test match against Pakistan played at National Stadium in Karachi.
Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique had a decent start for the opening wicket putting on 53 runs before Jack Leach grabbed 3 quick wickets of Masood, Azhar Ali, and Shafique to leave Pakistan in trouble.
Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel showed intent on keeping the scoreboard ticking. Rehan Ahmed was bought late into the attack by Ben Stokes and struck immediately getting rid of Pakistan captain Babar Azam with a long hop. He produced a lovely delivery to dismiss Mohammed Rizwan before getting rid of well-set Saud Shakeel to leave Pakistan in deep trouble.
After the tea break, Rehan Ahmed continued his impressive bowling dismissing Mohammad Wasim Junior with a simple catch to Ollie Robinson at mid-off. He ended the innings by dismissing Salman Ali caught at short-fine leg finishing with figures of 5 for 48 in 14.5 overs to bowl out Pakistan for 216 in their second innings.
Rehan Ahmed looked impressive in the first innings also picking up two wickets for 89 runs. He dismissed Saud Shakeel to get his debut wicket and then got rid of Faheem Ashraf after the tea break.

Rehan achieved the milestone at the age of 18 years and 126 days. The previous youngster to grab a five-wicket haul in Test matches was Pat Cummins at the age of 18 years and 196 days.
Rehan Ahmed was nervous in the initial overs but troubled the Pakistani batters with his variations. He could be named the player of the match award for his brilliant bowling.

Chasing down 167 runs to win, Rehan Ahmed was promoted to No. 3 after Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett put on 87 runs for the opening wicket. Ahmed looked impressive with two lovely boundaries before being dismissed by Abrar Ahmed.
At the end of Day 3, England are at 112/2 with skipper Ben Stokes batting in the middle alongside Ben Duckett. The tourists require only 55 runs to win to seal a historic win on their tour to Pakistan after 17 years.
