A spectator grabbed a one-handed stunner to become the first entrant into the ‘Catch a Million’ competition during the second match of the inaugural SA20 edition between the Joburg Super Kings and Durban Super Giants.
In the second match of the ongoing competition, the Super Kings batted first, led by Faf du Plessis. The Men in Yellow, on the other hand, got off to a slow start and were looking at a mediocre total. That was before Donavon Ferreira’s shoulders opened up for the Super Kings. The powerful batter went on a tear, especially against the slower bowlers.
Prenelan Subrayen’s fourth delivery of the tenth over was smashed for a six by Ferreira. While the shot was spectacular in its own right, an elderly spectator plucked the ball from the top tier to complete a breathtaking catch. He completed the catch with only his left hand and is in line to win a million rand after his spectacular effort off Donavon Ferreira’s massive six.
Here is the stunner:

His catch qualified him as the first entrant in Betway’s new ‘Catch a Million’ competition, which allows fans to win a share of one million rand. The catch must be completed cleanly with one hand only, without coming into contact with a hat, umbrella, another hand, shoulder chest, or being juggled between hands or with one hand.
In the match, Donavon Ferreira’s 82 off 42 deliveries resurrected the Super Kings’ batting innings and helped them reach a daunting total of 190 runs, which seemed unlikely after the powerplay ended. The Super Kings eventually won the game to get their season started.
