Top-order domination makes it 2-1 for India at Wankhede run fest

A clinical top order blitz sealed the game for India as they won by a margin of 67 runs against the Carribiens. Wankhede proved to be a hunting ground yet again as sixes rained throughout the stadium.

The Indian openers started dealing with boundaries right from the first over of the innings as India looked set for a high total. Rohit in the process of registering his fifty also completed 400 sixes across all formats of the game.

On the other hand, KL Rahul alongside skipper Virat Kohli made things work easily. A fearless approach from both of them accelerated the scoreboard to another level as India posted over 240/3.

However, things didn”t go as planned for Rishabh Pant who got out for a duck after a number 3 promotion.

West Indies” top order couldn”t provide the much-needed consistency as in the last game. Barring Pollard and Hetmyer none of them were able to play a quick cameo and this led to a series win for the hosts.

Rahul and Kohli bag awards

All eyes are now on the ODI series which begins this Sunday.

Match Summary:

India 240/3 (KL Rahul 91, Kohli 70*, Williams 1/37)

West Indies 173/8 ( Pollard 68, Hetmyer 41, D Chahar 2/20)
