The current form of Rishabh Pant has been receiving mixed reviews from the audience. Critics too haven”t spared Pant who has been constantly questioned for his on-field tactics during the game. His shot selections came under scanner as he fell for low scores whenever an opportunity was given.
However, the Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour has stood by Rishabh Pant ahead of the ODI series against the Carribeans. He backed Pant to perform better and shared his opinion on the same.
“The reason why we keep discussing him is that he has got an immense ability. Everybody (the selectors and team management) believes he can be the ‘X’ factor. He is working hard on his game and fitness and we hope he comes good. Once he starts coming good, he can be a match-winner. He has been given an opportunity because he has done well in this format in the past“, said Rathour during the press conference ahead of the first ODI at Chennai tomorrow.
Even in the high scoring third T20I, Pant received a promotion to the number three position. However, he fell for a duck and this annoyed the cricket fans to an extent.
The three-match ODI series
The focus now shifts towards the 50-overs format after a high intense T20I series. Pollard, the visiting captain said that his side is determined to create a miracle in the series. Will his team prove his words right?
