Indian player faces ban, 2 other players from KKR under the scanner

The DDCA took some serious decision in its Annual General Meeting on Sunday. A big decision was also made on a U19 world cup winning player who is banned for 2 years. The player was found guilty for wrong age details, Two other prominent names were of players playing IPL.

Manjot Kalra who played U19 world cup for India in 2019, was the Man of the Match in the finals of the world cup. Manjot alongside Prithvi Shaw opened the innings for India in the U19 world cup. He scored a century against Australia to help India win the World Cup.

In June 2019, Manjot Karla was under the scanner and his parents were also accused and were investigated by the special investigating unit. There was an allegation that Karla”s parent had fiddled with his age details, which could help him play age group cricket. It is also told that the given birth date of Karla is 15 January 1999 where as the swashbuckling Delhi Openers real age is 15 January, 1998.

This is not for the first time Karla has been under such a suspicion , he has also been under the same suspicion just before the U19 World Cup in 2018, but came clean and was allowed to play the world cup. Where he was the star of the team.

The other two player who have been asked to submit their original birth certificates are Kolkata Knight Riders star batsman Nitish Rana and another member of the U19 winning team Shivam Mavi. The case has been sent to BCCI from DDCA which could mean ban for both the players .

KKR”s new recruit Pravin Tambe is already under the radar and could be banned after he played the T10 league in Abu Dhabi last year. The ban on Shiwam Mavi and Nitish Rana would be a big blow to the Kolkata team .
