The venue for the third Test match between India and Australia has been shifted to Indore from Dharmshala. India took a 1-0 lead after thrashing Australia by innings and 132 runs on the third day of the 1st Test match played at VCA Stadium, Nagpur.
It was a dominating performance by Men in Blue side as they skittled out Australia for just 177 runs in the first innings. Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of bowlers for India with 5 wickets while Ashwin took 3, and Siraj and Shami grabbed 1 wicket each.
In reply, India posted 400 runs with Rohit Sharma scoring 120, Ravindra Jadeja 70, Axar Patel 84, and Mohammed Shami 37 helping them to take a big lead of 223 runs. The second innings was a major collapse as India bowled out Australia for just 91 in just one session to register a thumping win. Ravindra Jadeja was named the player of the match award for his all-around performance.
“Owing to harsh winter conditions in the region, the outfield lacks sufficient grass density and will need some time to develop fully,” said the BCCI in its statement as the reason for the change of venue.
Team India won the first Test
India and Australia will face in the 2nd Test match to be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on 17th February onwards.
