It was an impressive bowling performance by Team India to bowl out Australia for 263 with Mohammed Shami picking 4 wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin 3, and Jadeja each respectively. India ended the first day at 21 for 0.
Kohli proved his worth well complied 44 runs on the 2nd day of the 2nd Test match. He was given out in a controversial manner. Thanks to a brilliant 114 runs partnership for the 8th wicket, India reduced the margin to just 1 run lead. Australia ended the second day at 61 for 1 with a lead of 62 runs.
Indian top order struggled
The Indian top order struggled again on the 2nd day with KL Rahul falling cheaply. Rohit Sharma looked impressive before being bowled by Nathan Lyon. Cheteshwar Pujara was dismissed for 0 in his 100th Test. Shreyas Iyer making a comeback into the playing was brilliantly caught by Handscomb at short-leg.
Virat Kohli looked impressive hitting some lovely shots to lead India’s comeback. The Indian batting order collapsed as they lost 3 more quick wickets of Ravindra Jadeja, Kohli, and KS Bharat to leave the hosts in trouble. Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin produced another superb partnership keeping pressure on Australian bowlers.
Axar Patel completed his 2nd successive half-century of this series. He along with Ravichandran Ashwin steadied the ship putting on 114 runs for the 8th wicket. It was a superb effort as India was bowled out for 262 giving Australia a slender 1-run lead.
