The young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has been among the headlines in recent times after his swashbuckling show in the ICC U19 World Cup 2020. The southpaw, who won the player of the series award finishing as the highest run-scorer, will now join the Rajasthan Royals camp for his maiden Indian Premier League season. Yashasvi hopes to learn from the legends to better his game rubbing shoulders with the best in the business.

The cricketer from Mumbai had a stellar run in 2019 and continued his excellent form in 2020. Yashasvi Jaiswal finished the tournament with 400 runs in six innings, including an unbeaten hundred against Pakistan in the semifinal. He also played a knock of 88 runs in the final against Bangladesh but went in vain as India lost the crucial final match of the competition to finish as runner-up.

As he takes up a new challenge, the new poster boy of Indian cricket is excited to share the dressing room with the legends in the Rajasthan Royals camp. Speaking to India Today, Yashasvi Jaiswal looked confident to deliver the good for his franchise.

“For me, it is a very good opportunity to play in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals because I can go and talk with the World’s best players like Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler. I am really excited to learn from them. It will be exciting for me as it is my first IPL and I will try my best to do whatever I can,” Yashasvi Jaiswal said.

Meanwhile, the youngster has come a long way. From selling panipuris to making it to the Indian team, Jaiswal had to undergo a lot of struggle. He believes his hard work helped him to value things and setting up a strong mindset.

“When I was in 10th and was selling panipuris, I did not think bout anything because that time that was required for me. And I was really enjoying that. I knew that it was fine to do that. I will not get anything easy. Every time I need to work hard for it then I will get it. So it helps me in getting a strong mindset,” he concluded.
