Disappointed Harsha Bhogle Takes A Sly Dig At The Management For Dropping Wriddhiman Saha

Cricket analyst and commentator Harsha Bhogle has slammed the Team India management for dropping Wriddhiman Saha for the first Test against New Zealand at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli & Co had a poor start on the first day losing five wickets for 122 runs before wet outfield stopped the day's play.

The management decided to leave out incumbent wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha and go out with Rishabh Pant for his batting abilities. Notably, Saha had replaced in-form Pant when India began their home series against South Africa. Skipper Virat Kohli labelled the Bengal cricketer as the best wicket-keeper in the business, who earned praise from all quarters for his glovework in challenging conditions.

Rishabh Pant also lost his place in the limited-overs after he suffered a concussion during an ODI against Australia. KL Rahul, who was tipped as the wicket-keeper stood tall to his potential and delivered the goods to keep Pant out of the side.

It was expected that Pant will continue to warm the benches despite scoring 70-odd runs in the warm-up game. But to everyone's surprise, the management preferred the Delhi lad over Wriddhiman Saha which left everyone baffled including Harsha Bhogle. The veteran commentator vented out his disappointment on the Indian management in a couple of tweets.

“Just up and see Saha is left out. We have just told every young keeper in India not to bother becoming the best in the world behind the stumps and instead focus on getting a few more runs in front of them. Disappointed,” wrote Harsha Bhogle.

“Am waiting to see Shreya Ghoshal left out of a major concert because the other girl could strum the guitar a bit better!! #Saha," Bhogle wrote in the second tweet before deleting it.
